Uyuni, world’s largest salt flat, in the Bolivian Altiplano. (16 images)
Pictures and astrophotography shots of the famous Salar de Uyuni and its Andean flamingos, as well as the Tunupa colcano crater. The Salar de Uyuni is the world’s largest salt flat, 12 000 feet above sea level and containing 10 billion tons of salt with a small, reasonable percentage extracted yearly (25KT). It also contains 60-70% of the world’s lithium reserves, but very difficult (read: not profitable) to extract so far, thank god.
